I am a board-certified Internal Medicine physician with a deep commitment to personalized, patient-centered care. Growing up in Middle River, Maryland, I developed an early appreciation for community, service and the outdoors.
My path to medicine began with a Bachelor of Science in Functional Biology from Towson University. I went on to earn my Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Lake Erie Collage of Osteopathic Medicine, followed by Internal Medicine residency training at Lower Bucks Hospital, where I graduated in 2020. During residency, I served as an Epic Physician Champion, playing a key role in transitioning the hospital from paper to electronic records.
Since completing training, I have provided comprehensive primary care at University of Maryland Harford Primary Care (no Danny and Gail Jones Primary Care), delivering both in-person and telehealth services focused on preventive care, acute and chronic disease management and optimizing wellness. I’ve also cared for post-acute and long-term multidisciplinary teams.
What draws me most to concierge primary care is the opportunity to build genuine, long-term relationships with patients and their families without the typical time restrictions that limit traditional primary care. I look forward to capitalizing on the increased flexibility that the extra time will allow in developing individualized wellness plans and partnering with patients to achieve their health goals-whether that’s optimizing chronic conditions, emphasizing prevention, or supporting overall vitality.
Outside of the medical arena, I am an Eagle Scout and longtime member of Boy Scouts of America (troop 746), where I’ve served as Assistant Scoutmaster, merit badge counselor and committee member while participating in the countless service projects. I’m happily married and a proud father of a daughter. Our family enjoys hiking, camping, and exploring the outdoors together. I’m also passionate about technology (from my early work in networking and helpdesk roles), emergency preparedness, and staying proactive in life. I am always interested in learning something new.
I am honored to bring this blend of clinical expertise and personal dedication to my patients. My goal is to provide unhurried, compassionate care that empowers you to live your healthiest, most fulfilling life. Or, as my wife may say, “live your best life”. I look forward to meeting each of you in the coming year.
Sincerely,
Nicholas Podhorniak, DO (Dr. Nick)
